AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Takes Dog Shows To New Level With Interactive Livestreaming

For the First-Time One of the World’s Premiere Dog Events Will Give Fans Unique Opportunity to Share Real-Time Content Across Their Social Networks

MASON, OHIO (DEC. 6, 2013) – As one of the world’s leading dog shows, the 2013 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship continues to innovate inside and outside of the ring by offering livestream of the entire event with cutting-edge social capabilities. For the first-time ever, dog enthusiasts from around the world can virtually sit ringside – by visiting Live.Eukanuba.com Dec. 13-15, 2013 – and experience all of the action and immediately chat, share, pin, post and tweet at the click of a button.

“We are excited to give dog enthusiasts the ability to participate in our show in a way that’s never been done before,” said Jason Taylor, Communications Director for P&G Pet Care. “People can track their favorite competition, breed or dog as they vie for best in show and instantly share photos or videos across their social networks. No other dog show has offered this interactive capability so we’re expecting a lot of buzz and a tremendous response.”

Live.Eukanuba.com will begin streaming coverage on Dec. 13 at 12:30 p.m. ET with the following sharable content featured throughout the weekend:

Top Dogs – 190 breeds and varieties will compete for best in show honors, with footage of all judging available to embed into any social networking site; ideal for national breed clubs, handlers, hometown communities supporting their local dogs and dog lovers alike.

Agile Athletes – Observe canine athletes race against the clock over challenging obstacles during the Agility Invitational, and see dogs put their best paw forward during the inaugural Obedience Classic with footage posted the same-day.

Strike a Pose – Fans will participate in LookShare – a virtual photo album housed on the site filled with pictures of each dog in the ring. From there, fans can share their favorite canine with followers, friends and family via their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and/or Instagram pages.

And the Winner Is – The livestreaming of the show will culminate Dec. 15 with the best in show competition and winner announcement. Fans can chat throughout the judging and sound off on their favorite.

Over the course of the 3-day event, more than 300 hours of video will be generated and available from any Smart TV, desktop, laptop and mobile device. In addition to Live.Eukanuba.com, fans can visit the following social sites and look for #CelebrateDogs to follow all the action: www.facebook.com/Eukanuba, www.facebook.com/AENC, @Eukanuba and www.instagram.com/Eukanuba.

“We are thrilled to expand our reach and bring the show to people across the globe,” said Michael Canalizo, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship event manager. “We are so proud to be leading our industry and offering enthusiasts the ability to share their passion for dogs – whether that’s tweeting a group winner, posting a breed competition video to a Facebook page or pinning a picture from the best in show ring. It’s truly phenomenal to see the evolution of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.”

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will be at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center from Dec. 14-15, 2013, with livestreaming available Dec. 13-15.
