Remembering Dorothy Macdonald
The Canine Chronicle received the sad news that Dorothy Macdonald of Carmel, California passed away today at 94 years old. Miss Macdonald is one of the most iconic judges of our time and a renowned authority on all breeds, especially the Brittany. She was a respected and sought after judge of all Sporting, Hound, Terrier and Toy breeds.
Among many awards and recognitions, Miss Macdonald was a past recipient of the AKC Lifetime Achievement award, was a past faculty member of the AKC Judges Institute, AKC Gazette columnist, past president of the Dog Show Judges Association of America, and a past Dog Woman of The Year. She judged Best in Show at the 2001 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

The Canine Chronicle extends our sincere condolences to all who knew and loved her. The sport of purebred dogs has lost a great friend.
