A Scottish Terrier from Russia wins place in Crufts Best in Show Final
Eva, a Scottish Terrier from Russia, won the Terrier Group title at Crufts 2019 today (Saturday 9th March), qualifying her for a place in the Best in Show final on Sunday.
Eva, (Multi Ch Filisite Brash Beauty Never Lies), three, will return to the Resorts World Arena at the NEC in Birmingham for a place in the final at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts, with her owner and handler, Valentina Popova.
People across the world will be watching to see which dog is crowned Best in Show on Sunday as the final is shown live on Channel 4 and streamed on the official Crufts YouTube Channel - www.youtube.com/crufts.
Almost 21,000 dogs are competing over the four days for one of just seven places in the Crufts final and a chance to win the most celebrated title in the world of dogs.
Proud owner Valentina said: “I am so excited to win the group here at Crufts. I won Reserve Best in Show nine years ago, so this is an amazing opportunity to be in the Best in Show final again!”
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “Huge congratulations to Eva for being chosen as the Terrier Group winner today. Eva and Valentina should be very proud of reaching the prestigious Best in Show final – it’s an incredible achievement. We’re also very pleased to see the spotlight shining on the Scottish Terrier, which has recently been added to our list of ‘At Watch’ breeds that are at risk of disappearing because their numbers are so low.
“Crufts celebrates healthy, happy dogs and recognises the special and unique bond between dogs and their owners. Eva is such an excellent dog that clearly has a wonderful relationship with her handler, and is at home in the show ring.
“The final tomorrow is looking very exciting – we want to wish Eva and Valentina the best of luck in the ring.”
