Looking Back – Westminster’s Best Juniors

Susan Schneider – Westminster Best Junior 1979

Susan and her dad, Donald Schneider, bred Kerry Blue Terriers. When her bitch was bred and she needed a new Juniors dog, Springer breeder Bonnie Bosley of Bordalyn Springers offered her a 9-month-old puppy named Bordalyn’s Resolution aka Tag. The only stipulation to the deal was that Susan would need to finish his championship. Tag not only finished, but he became Susan’s steadfast companion. In 1978 Susan and Tag were awarded second place in the Junior Showmanship Finals at Westminster Kennel Club. Susan only had 6 months to qualify for Westminster 1979 as she would age out in August. She and Tag had not competed in Juniors for 6 months when they stepped in the ring that fateful night in February of 1979, and Mr. Frank Sabella chose Susan as Best Junior. Congratulations Susan and enjoy the memories.
