Remembering Dr Alvin Krause
We received the sad news of the passing of Dr. Alvin Krause at the age of 90. Dr. Krause was a retired AKC judge of the Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier and Non-Sporting groups. He and his wife, Bettie, were well-respected judges in the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s. Al continued judging after Bettie passed away and retired in 2017.
Dr. Krause began exhibiting Miniature Schnauzers in 1960, and later bred champion Labrador Retrievers, German Shorthaired Pointers, Miniature Pinschers, and Greyhounds. He and Bettie founded the Colorado Judges Workshop and were also long-time members of the Evergreen Colorado Kennel Club.
The Canine Chronicle extends sincere condolences to Dr. Krause’s family, friends and the dog show community following his passing. He will be missed.
