Remembering Roger Hartinger

It is with great sadness and regret that we report the passing of respected American Kennel Club Judge Mr. Roger Hartinger of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Hartinger was involved with purebred dogs since his early childhood. He was an AKC Licensed Handler, along with his beloved wife, Paula. They also bred and owned Standard Schnauzers and Lakeland Terriers. He was active in his local kennel clubs, the Clermont County Kennel Club and the Cincinnati Kennel Club. He served as a past president and show chairman for both clubs.

Mr. Hartinger was one of our sport’s most popular and respected judges of All Breeds. He was kind, respectful, and his opinion was widely sought after. He judged at many prestigious venues, including Best in Show at the 2017 American Kennel Club National Championship.

The Canine Chronicle extends our sincere condolences to Paula, and Roger’s many friends and family during this difficult time. He will be sorely missed.
