Remembering Douglas Holloway Jr.
The Canine Chronicle is saddened to report the passing of judge Mr. Doug Holloway Jr., known to most as Dougie.
Born into the sport of dogs, Dougie attended dog shows from a young age with his father Roy Holloway. He later worked as an assistant to George Alston.
In 1997, Dougie led Pa, aka Ch. Parsifal Di Casa Netzer, the Standard Schnauzer to BIS at Westminster Kennel Club. Pa was the winner of 66 Best in Shows, and 157 Group 1’s, and he was the #1 Dog of All Breeds in 1996.
Dougie will be remembered by so many as a great mentor and friend, as well as a fierce competitor.
Jane Myers wrote on this memorial on her Facebook page:
The Canine Chronicle extends our deepest condolences to his wife Rita, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
