Kelly Marquis to Offer Free Life Coaching

Professional AKC Dog Handler, Kelly Lyn Marquis, PHA, AKC RHP, CTA CLC is offering her life coaching services for free in an effort to help support those in the dog show community who may be struggling.

“I know people in our community are facing unprecedented challenges and I want to do my part to help,” said Kelly.

According to Kelly, the dog show community can be a tough community to serve because so many of the people are used to being the “givers” of services, the “givers” of their time.  They are not accustomed to asking for and/or receiving help.

Kelly notes, “They are proud.  They are resourceful.  They are competent and strong.  They are survivors.  I understand many of their struggles.”

She pointed out that members of the community are facing some of their deepest fears, and facing some difficult questions, such as “Will I be able to pay my mortgage this month, next month?  Will my clients have jobs and have the money to pay me once things resume?  How long will this last?  Will things go back to normal?  Am I going to be okay?”

“Many of these fears are real and need to be heard, felt and expressed,” said Kelly.

During her coaching sessions clients often receive relief from thoughts weighing them down, support with self-made demands and expectations, tangible ideas for better self-care, redirection of non-productive thoughts that don’t feel good, and a feeling of connection and support.

Kelly also guarantees total confidentiality.  Nothing in session is ever discussed outside session with anyone, ever.

Kelly adds, “All coaching sessions are very unique to the client.  What works for one person many not be the best solution for another person.”  It’s also important to know that a coach is not a consultant.  A coach doesn’t tell their client what they need to do.  She explains, “A great life coach knows how to lead a client inward so they can explore their own inner wisdom and create their own unique solutions.”  In addition, a life coach is not a therapist.  People who are truly struggling psychologically should contact a licensed therapist.

Kelly’s coaching services will be offered for free through the end of September 2020.

“I anticipate it will take some time for our community to get back up on our feet.  That is why I intend to offer my coaching services for at least a few months after we are back to work and showing dogs again. Many people will have been surviving on little to no income and it may take some time for things to come back into balance. I want to make it easy for people to get support,” explains Kelly.

In lieu of payment Kelly invites anyone who feels the need to reciprocate to consider making a donation to Take the Lead or another charity of their choice.

She added, “If someone chooses not to make a donation, that’s okay too.”  “Perhaps it’s time that person cashes in for all the times they have given so much of themselves.”

Kelly Lyn Marquis is the owner/operator of Winall Coaching Services.  She is a CTA Certified Life Coach.  In 2002 she earned top rankings handling Ch. Blue Chip Purple Reign, AKA “Raisin,” to the position of Number one Working Dog, Number One Doberman, and Number Five Dog Amongst all-breeds.  She is currently writing a book titled, Behind the Scenes of Best in Show.
