Kennel Club Announces Leading Judge for 2014 Breeders’ Competition Final
The Kennel Club has announced that the judge of the 2014 Breeders’ Competition at Crufts will be Dr Paolo Dondina from Italy, a previous Best in Show judge at the world’s greatest dog show.
Sponsored by Agria Pet Insurance, and supported by Our Dogs newspaper, the Breeders’ Competition gives entrants the opportunity to showcase their skill and knowledge as a breeder. Breeders can take part by obtaining a competition record book from the Kennel Club, or at Championship Shows, and entering the competition at these shows if they have three or four dogs of their breeding entered.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: “The Kennel Club Breeders’ Competition is the perfect opportunity for dog breeders to showcase their skills and knowledge as a breeder, whilst contending for the ultimate Best Breeder title at the grand final of the competition at Crufts. Dr Dondina is a world renowned judge and we look forward to him judging the prestigious final next year.”
It has also been announced that the 2014 final will take place on the Sunday of the show, the peak time during the four day event. The competition is again offering a prize of a free bottle of champagne to mark the fantastic achievements of those breeders who have gained 50 points or more, offering a further incentive to encourage competitors to battle it out for points.
