Crufts 2014 Qualification Dates
The qualification dates for entry at the world’s biggest dog show have been set and will allow, for the first time, dogs which qualify at next year’s Manchester Dog Show Society Championship show to be entered at Crufts 2014 two months later.
The closing dates for postal entries will be Monday 6th January 2014, but those entering online will be able to do so until Monday 20th January 2014, following both the Boston and Manchester Championship shows. Thus dogs which qualified at Boston and Manchester in either 2013 or 2014 will be eligible to compete at Crufts 2014.
Any dog which qualifies for Crufts 2014 after 6th January 2014 may only be entered online.
Gerald King, Chairman of Crufts said: “By moving the closing date for qualification and online entries for Crufts 2014, we are pleased to be able to offer a more immediate reward to dogs which qualify at Boston and Manchester next January.
“We believe that exhibitors who qualify at these two shows would prefer to be able to bring their dogs to Crufts sooner after qualifying, rather than having to wait almost 14 months for the opportunity as has previously been the case.”
Exhibitors should note, however, that eligibility for classes other than age classes is based on wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of the postal closing date. Therefore, only wins up to Monday 30th December 2013 should be counted when entering these classes.
