South Texas Collie Club Holds All Breed AKC Sanctioned FAST CAT Trial This Past Weekend – May 23rd & 24th

The American Lure Course Racing Group and the South Texas Collie Club held their first AKC Sanctioned FAST CAT Trial this weekend, Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th in League City, Texas at Walter Hall Park. FAST CAT stands for Coursing Ability Test and is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. To participate in FAST CAT, a dog must be at least 12 months of age and have an AKC registration number. This is open to all breeds.

There were two trials per day with a limit of 80 dogs per trial. Participants and dogs alike enjoyed the warm weather and weekend out with many dogs even earning qualifying scores towards their new titles. The event went off without a hitch with participants practicing social distancing while still enjoying the event and time with their dog.

Check out the American Lure Course Racing Facebook page for more information on future events.
