Adirondack Circuit 2015
This year’s Adirondack Circuit – August 5th through 9th – in Ballston Spa, Saratoga, New York promises to be better than ever. With specialties in breeds like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and supported entries in other breeds, there should be many opportunities to get majors on your dogs or breed and grand champion points.
This year’s circuit will have an all-star panel of judges and some new features as the Fairgrounds has constructed two new buildings which will be figured into the ring set-up. The Circuit should be moving the Group judging under cover for protection from both sun and rain.
Aside from the obvious reasons to attend a dog show circuit (showing your dog) the Adirondack Circuit continues to be a Family Friendly Event with a large camping contingent. Yes, there will be a “Best Dressed Campsite” event this year. For those who have experienced this before, the competition is fierce. The burning questions; what will Frank & Robin do at their site to out-do their 2014 Fall Festival and what are Phil & Patty planning for their mega-site presentation.
There will be a Microchip Clinic, sponsored by Mohawk Valley Kennel Club on Thursday and the cost is only $25. There is a B Match planned for Thursday evening after Best in Show, sponsored by the Saratoga KC. Exhibitors may sign up on Wednesday or Thursday at the club table and an entry form is available which may be downloaded from their website at: www.saratoganykennelclub.org
Thursday evening will see a free wine, cheese, chocolate and cracker tasting offered by the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club or Northeastern NY. This will be followed by the judging of the Best Dressed Campsite after dark. You must be part of this.
There will be Canine Good Citizen testing on both Friday and Saturday, an Eye Clinic on Friday and Saturday and a Heart Clinic on Saturday. For specifics on this, please download a premium list at wwwiinfodog.com.
The Circuit will host the ever-popular free Pizza Party and DJ on Friday Night.
There will be an Adult Handling Clinic on Saturday, which is open to all – with a special invitation to New and Novice Exhibitors. This will be moderated by AKC Registered Handler Program Coordinators and assisted by AKC Registered Handlers. ALL exhibitors are invited to attend this FREE clinic. This is an opportunity for newer exhibitors to receive individual handling instruction and ring tips from AKC Registered Handlers. The location will be posted at the Superintendent’s Desk.
A dinner is planned for Saturday night by the CKCSCNENY at their area, which will be followed by a big auction hosted by Phil Champagne and the ever-popular “Voice of Westminster” David Frei. The dinner will require reservations but the after dinner auction always feature desserts and wine.
There is certainly enough to keep any exhibitor or casual observer entertained for the week. Please consider attending. For more specifics you can go to www.infodog.com and enter any of the clubs on the circuit. Hope to see you there.
