Morris Animal Foundation Webinar Presents Latest Research for Humans and Pets

Morris Animal Foundation, a nonprofit leader in advancing animal health, will host a collaborative webinar to provide an insider’s look at what is happening in the world of COVID-19 and coronavirus research, and what it means for humans and their pets.

“COVID-19 & Coronaviruses — At the Intersection of Human and Animal Health”  takes place on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 11 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. MDT. Attendees will learn more about what animals can teach us about coronaviruses (and host species), dig into One Health as it relates to training scientists tackling emerging diseases like COVID-19, and discover exciting research in feline coronavirus that is providing insights to speed the development of COVID-19 vaccines.

The webinar will feature three renowned researchers from the Smithsonian Institution and Colorado State University:

• Dr. MacDonald Farnham, The Morris Animal Foundation and Dennis and Connie Keller Director of Training, Global Health Program, Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute
• Dr. Klaus-Peter Koepfli, Researcher with the Conservation Biology and Genomics, Center for Species Survival, Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute
• Dr. Gregg Dean, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology, Colorado State University

This is the third episode of the Foundation’s educational webinar series, “AnimalNEWS 101,” which provides monthly animal health lessons for pet owners and science enthusiasts from a wide range of experts.
