Over Half A Million Dog Owners Send Dog Photos and Well Wishes to Phoenix Teen Via “Photo Doggies For Anthony”

Photo Doggies for Anthony is a Facebook movement that prompts users to post photos of their dog to help bring a smile to Anthony Lyon’s face. Anthony is a sixteen year old from Phoenix, Arizona who is braving chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. While in the hospital, he has loved being visited by therapy dogs. However, these visits are not every day. The photos that are submitted to this page are shown to Anthony on the days that the therapy dogs do not visit, bringing him much joy. Photo Doggies For Anthony has quickly gone viral. There have been over half a million photos of dogs submitted from all over the world to show to Anthony. A family friend notes on the page, “We have looked at each and every photo and video and we laugh and sometimes cry just from the outpouring of support.”
