The Steel Valley Cluster has released the following social distancing plan for the 2020 Steel Valley Cluster. Entries close for the Steel Valley Cluster on Wednesday, July 15 2020 at noon. The Steel Valley Cluster is to be held in Canfield, Ohio on Thursday July 30th – Sunday, August 2nd. The Premium List is available online here

EVENT ATTENDEES VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS RELATED TO EXPOSURE TO COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

The following plan is designated at this time for the Steel Valley Cluster of Dog Shows and subject to change. Failure to comply could subject the individual to being removed from the grounds and/or disciplinary action in accordance to AKC’s Dealing with Misconduct booklet.

1. All attendees (Officials, judges, stewards, exhibitors and all workers) are required to follow state, local and facility guidelines in effect at the time of the event.

2. DUE TO COVID-19 GUIDELINES, THE PUBLIC IS NOT INVITED TO ATTEND THESE EVENTS.

3. EXPOSURE TO COVID-19: If you have recently been in the presence of a person who has either tested positive for Covid-19 or has the symptoms (coughing/sneezing/temperature) please stay home.

4. IF YOU ARE ILL, FEEL UNWELL, COUGHING, SNEEZING OR RUNNING A TEMPERATURE: Please stay home. All show committee members, judges, stewards and workers will be required to self-assess and have temperatures taken. ALL attendees should self-assess daily. Report to show committee if you exhibit any signs or symptoms of Covid-19

5. All attendees are expected to adhere to social distancing guidelines and when not possible, are REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING. Even when social distancing the wearing of a face covering is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. The wearing of a face covering (mask) protects you and everyone around you. We do understand that these shows are outside in the summer and the need to lower your mask while gaiting may become necessary. Requests for accommodation in accordance to the ADA may be submitted to the respective show chair for the applicable event.

6. SUPERINTENDENT: Exhibitors needing to see MBF Officials must wear a face covering and must enter the superintendent’s office from the front of the Hay and Grain building.

7. BE SELF SUFFICIENT: Please remember to bring personal face coverings, hand sanitizer, gloves, cleaning wipes, etc. for your own personal use.

8. Exhibitors and all participants should SANITIZE hands as frequently as possible. Sanitizing stations will be provided throughout the fairgrounds for use. Hand sanitizer provided on judges table is for the use of the judge and ring steward ONLY.

9. We will be following the SHOW AND GO philosophy: To minimize the number of persons near the rings at any one time, be aware of and adhere to your scheduled times. Do not arrive at your designated location more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time and exit the area upon completion of your participation. Do not congregate or block ring entrances and exits.

10. COME TO THE RING PREPARED: There will be no community catalog at ring side. Please be aware of your armband number(s) when coming to the rings. Catalogs can be purchased at the gate upon entry.

11. Each ring will have a separate entrance and exit. Please use as intended.

12. ALL RINGS AND GROOMING WILL BE OUTDOORS: Several grooming tents will be set-up in various locations on the grounds. Power will be available under some of the grooming tents. We must share to make sure everyone has the ability to use it when needed.

13. NO saving of space in the Grooming Tent and individual set-ups must maintain social distancing from one another. NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT OVERNIGHT UNDER A GROOMING TENT AND MUST BE REMOVED WITHIN ONE HOUR AFTER THE COMPLETION OF BEST IN SHOW.

14. THE USE OF FORCED AIR DRYERS IS PROHIBITED UNDER THE GROOMING TENT. The responsible use of personal hair dryers is allowed. Fans are permitted but must be faced toward dogs/crates and not outward or toward other set-ups. All equipment under the grooming tent should have some form of identification as to ownership and contact number.

15. No ready rings for Toy Dogs and NO GROOMING under the ring tent. Any personal chairs ringside must maintain social distancing. Chairs may not be left unattended ringside. Household units are free to sit together. No group gatherings or congregating ringside.
