MI UPDATE: Breeder Regulations Bill Ready for House Vote
The Michigan House of Representatives has placed House Bill 5095 on the third reading calendar, meaning it could be voted on at any time. This bill includes provisions that would limit the number of dogs that can be kept on a single premises and define a “large scale commercial breeder kennel” based on the number of intact female dogs a person owns, rather than actual sales.
Michigan residents are strongly encouraged to contact their State Representative TODAY and ask them to oppose the definition of “large scale commercial breeder” and the ownership limit in HB 5095. Click here to find the name and contact information for your State Representative.
AKC Government Relations (AKC GR) will continue to closely monitor this legislation and provide more information as it becomes available.
