Exciting New Changes for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship

Entries close Wednesday, November 14, 2012!

The 2012 edition of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show has added to the format of this prestigious show. All AKC registered dogs are eligible to compete at the 12th Annual event held December 15-16, 2012 in Orlando, Florida for the first time since the successful 125th Anniversary Show in 2009.. This will be a great way to start out that exciting new young dog or a glorious way to finish a dog’s championship. With the three all breed shows of the Orlando Cluster (Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay, Brevard Kennel Club, Central Florida Kennel Club) being held December 12-14 in the same location, this will be the year’s premier weekend of dog shows for conformation, obedience and agility.

In celebration of the new show format for the 2012 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, all dogs who achieved the established “qualifying criteria” will be welcomed into the new “AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Honor Roll”. Dogs on the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Honor Roll will earn a “Certificate of Achievement” and other benefits in recognition of these accomplishments.

Each dog inducted into the “Honor Roll” will be entitled to:

  • A commemorative pin acknowledging them as a 2012 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Honoree. This pin is exclusively for dogs that have qualified and are competing at the event.
  • A personalized “Certificate of Achievement” certificate as a 2012 Honor Roll qualifier.
  • Special designation in the event catalog as an Honoree for that year.
  • One free photograph of the Honoree in the online catalog that is archived on the AKC website.

Entries for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship are quickly approaching the deadline. Please Note that The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is not limited and entries will close for the event on November 14th, 2012. This is a week before the All-breed shows of the Orlando Cluster held in conjunction close their entries (November 21, 2012) . The All-Breed shows have a limit of 4,200 per event.

As in previous years the other popular events will be an important part of he AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show. These events include the Bred By Exhbitor Competition, Eukanuba World Challenge, AKC Meet the Breeds®,  AKC Agility Invitational,  AKC National Juniors Competition in Conformation, Agility and Obedience, AKC National Obedience Invitational, Eukanuba Breeders Stakes Finals, AKC Judges Institute for All Terrier breeds and the Eukanuba Experience and Demonstrations.

Also making appearances are Stella the French Bulldog from the popular comedy, “Modern Family” as well as Yakult, the canine star of “Suburgatory”.
