American Kennel Club Records First Rally Champion

The American Kennel Club (AKC®), the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs, is pleased to announce that the first AKC Rally Champion (RACH) titled dog has been recorded.

A six-year old black Labrador Retriever named “Zorro,” owned by Robert (Bob) Fullum of Staten Island, NY, is the first dog to earn the AKC’s Rally Champion title. The RACH was earned on November 3, 2018 at the Port Chester Obedience Training Club in White Plains, NY. “I am so proud of my black Lab Zorro for making this dream/goal a reality,” said Bob.

“We’re very excited to have our first AKC Rally Champion one year after the title’s inception,” said Pamela Manaton, AKC’s Director of Obedience, Rally and Tracking. “Zorro is an exceptional dog, and we look forward to seeing all that he continues to accomplish.”

A dog must have achieved a minimum of 300 championship points from the Excellent B and Master classes; and 20 triple qualifying scores obtained from the Advanced B, Excellent B and Master classes to obtain the Rally Champion title.
