AKC Canine Health Foundation Chief Executive Officer to Step Down
The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF), the leading non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent, treat and cure diseases in all dogs, announces that Chief Executive Officer Diane Brown, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVP, will step down in April. Dr. Brown, who also serves as CHF’s Chief Science Officer, will return to her roots in the clinical pathology field.
Dr. Brown joined CHF in 2015. Under her guidance, the Foundation has reached new highs in both donor funds and the number of peer-reviewed research grants awarded. CHF also consistently achieves the coveted 4-Star rating (the highest) from Charity Navigator.
CHF Board Chair Dr. Charles Garvin notes, “Through Diane’s brilliant and steadfast efforts, working with the CHF Board and a fine-tuned staff, CHF has reached an unparalleled pinnacle of success. While we’re sorry to see her go, we’re thankful for her accomplishments with us, and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”
With Dr. Brown’s assistance, CHF is now actively recruiting a new Executive Director who can build on her success.
“During my tenure with the AKC Canine Health Foundation, I’ve had the opportunity to meet incredible dogs and to work with dedicated people who are passionate about science and canine health,” says Dr. Brown. “It’s been an honor to serve. I’ll leave the Foundation in good stead with an equally passionate Board and staff, who are committed to the health of all dogs.”
CHF thanks Dr. Brown for her tireless work for canine health, recognizing that she’s made a substantial positive impact in the lives of both canines and humans. For more information, go to akcchf.org.
