AKC and AKC Companion Animal Recovery Stand Ready to Assist Displaced Pets After Hurricane Sandy
(Tuesday, October 30, 2012)
The AKC and AKC Companion Animal Recovery (AKC CAR) are ready to help any non-profit temporary shelter needing assistance housing displaced pets as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
The AKC CAR 24/7 Call Center, which helps reunite lost pets with their owners, has added additional Recovery Coordinators to assist concerned owners whose pets may have been lost as a result of the storm or separated from their owners during an evacuation.
As always, AKC and AKC CAR are ready to help. If you know of a shelter needing assistance temporarily housing displaced pets, please contact Stephanie Smith at sxs2@akc.org or 404-432-8442.
If you’d like to make a donation to assist with disaster relief efforts, please visit the AKC CAR Canine Support and Relief Fund and indicate Hurricane Sandy on your donation.
