PA Dog Judges Association – “Dogs At Work”
PA Dog Judges Association – News Release
The PA Dog Judges Association held a “Dogs At Work” project held May 5, 2012 at Townsend Park in Murrysville, PA. The program included several breed seminars, field and water demonstrations on several breeds for all AKC judges. Additionally, we held a program for the Community of Murrysville, PA that included several local K-9 Police Officers that demonstrated the actions and ability of police dogs. Finally, we collected donations from all of our local all-breed and breed clubs for a dog related item in memory of K-9 Officer Derek Kotecki. Officer Kotecki was one of our local police officers who was killed in October of last year, while trying to apprehend a drug suspect. Enclosed the picture of Police Chief Tim Weitzel, Mark Kennedy, and Derek’s father, Richard Kotecki. This picture is me (Mark Kennedy) presenting Mr. Kotecki with a check in the amount of $4,500 at the Lower Burrell Council Meeting on Monday August 13, 2012. The money will be used for a dog related item in memory of Officer Kotecki. We had a great turnout with over 150 dogs and 250 cars. In fact, we are going to continue the program next year.
