Wakefield Dog Wins Group At Crufts And Makes It Through To Live Channel 4 Final
Beating thousands of other dogs, Brandon (Ch Minaelea’s Black Mambo JW), a Rottweiler from Wakefield, West Yorkshire has qualified for the final of Crufts after winning Best in Group for the Working group this evening.
Brandon, aged three, will now compete for the prestigious title of Best in Show on Sunday against just six other dogs at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham. More than 21,000 dogs are competing over the four days of the show for the chance to win the most celebrated title in the world of dogs.
Owners, Robert and Donna Taylor, who are Kennel Club Assured Breeders, and Brandon will be returning to the NEC Arena on the evening of Sunday March 9th for the highly anticipated Crufts 2014 final. Only seven dogs make it all the way through to the final, which will be watched by thousands in the arena and millions more worldwide as it will be televised live on Channel 4 and streamed on the official Crufts YouTube Channel -www.youtube.com/crufts.
Proud owner, Robert said: “This is just brilliant! Brandon never lets me down; as soon as he entered the ring today, he just stepped up. His temperament is amazing and he comes everywhere with us. It just hasn’t sunk in; I’m so proud of him, he’s my best friend.”
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “We were delighted to see Brandon chosen as the Best in Group today, he is such a lovely dog that clearly loves being in the show ring and has a great relationship with his handler.
“Reaching the Best in Show final at Crufts is a fabulous achievement for any dog, and we wish Brandon the very best for the final. I’m sure that all of Wakefield will be tuning in to Channel 4 and rooting for them to win on Sunday evening.”
