Dog Lovers Welcome the Return of Crufts in 2022: Entries Now Open

From Wednesday 1 December, entries will be open for Crufts which will be making a welcome return next year to the NEC, Birmingham on 10 - 13 March 2022 after a gap of one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The breed competitions are scheduled to take place on the following days:

Thursday 10 March 2022 – Working and Pastoral

Friday 11 March 2022 – Terrier and Hound

Saturday 12 March 2022 – Utility and Toy

Sunday 13 March 2022 – Gundog

Among the special features at the 2022 show will be a display in the main arena on the Sunday evening by royal gundogs to commemorate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, as well as a display on the Sunday evening by the Guide Dogs to mark the ninetieth anniversary of the charity. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People will also hold a display on the Saturday in celebration of their fortieth anniversary year.

Three breeds will be creating history at the 2022 show. Hungarian Pumis will have their own classes for the first time, Smooth Faced Pyrenean Sheepdogs will make their debut in the Imported Breed Register classes, and Harriers will be making their first appearance in the Crufts breed ring since 1898.

With limited opportunities to qualify in 2021, The Kennel Club Junior Warrant and International Junior Handler finals will unfortunately not be held at Crufts 2022. However, the popular Kennel Club Breeders Competition and Vulnerable British and Irish Native Breeds finals will make a welcome return to the main arena on the Friday.

Exhibitors who have qualified their dog for the show by the attainment of a Stud Book Number which is yet to be confirmed by The Kennel Club, due to ongoing delays, are advised that simply stating the name and date of the show as well the class in which the dog qualified (e.g. Junior Bitch) will be deemed acceptable this year when entering dogs.

Overseas exhibitors are reminded that all dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete (ATC) number before entry to the show/event can be made. All ATC numbers must be applied for by 23 December 2021. For details, please visit Kennel Club Authority to Compete (ATC)

As with the 2018 and 2020 shows, special permission has been given to Crufts for the award of Reserve Best in Show to be given out immediately prior to the award of Best in Show.

The Crufts schedule is available on our entries page (no paper schedules have been printed this year) where entries can be made online. For postal entries please follow the instructions on the Crufts website. If you require further assistance please email the Crufts team.
