A Charming & Creative Ribbon Display

It can often be a challenge to properly display meaningful ribbons in a home or kennel, especially after many years of involvement in the sport. Some ribbons and photos are framed, while some are merely stored. There have been a myriad of creative ways that dog show fanciers have implemented to display ribbons, from wreathes to quilts, and even shadowbox coffee tables!

Alisa and Jim Andras of Blueprint Golden Retrievers shared a beautiful and original idea to display their most important dog show ribbons. They have been nationally campaigning dogs with Clint and Karen Livingston since 2010 and needed a way to present these ribbons and memories from the past. Alisa was inspired by a similar design from Sherry Anderson, a Labrador retriever breeder. She purchased a Golden Retriever frame from www.showdogtopiaries.com. Show Dog Topiaries are designed by Carl and Lora Liepmann and feature topiaries or frames of most popular AKC Breeds. Alisa filled the frame with special rosettes, with memories from dogs Blue, Groovy, Eve, Fisher, Nicholas, Dorothy, Beckett, Polo, Elphie, Phoebe, Aslan and Reba. Each ribbon has the dogs’ name and the judges’ names on the back.

Alisa notes that it was great fun to create, and we are sure it was certainly a trip down memory lane!
