Sandra D’Andrea Hired As AKC Executive Field Representative
New York, NY – The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Sandra D’Andrea has been hired as an Executive Field Representative. D’Andrea joined the staff on November 19, 2012. She will be based in the Buffalo, New York area and cover shows in Western New York, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Michigan.
“Sandra brings many years of experience as a distinguished breeder, professional handler and club member to the position, and I know that she will be a valuable addition to the shows in her territory,” said Patricia Proctor who heads the Conformation field staff. “The American Kennel Club is proud to welcome her to the staff.”
D’Andrea has been in the sport for more than 30 years. She breeds Alaskan Malamutes under the prefix Nanuke and bred and owned the top-winning Malamute of all time. Additionally, D’Andrea has bred over 70 Champions, won Best in Show and Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in Show at the January 2006 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship with a breeder/owner-handled dog, and was named the 2006 AKC Working Group Breeder of the Year.
She handled dogs for twenty years, working for a top professional handler and also showing dogs on her own as an all-breed handler. She has won Group Ones in all seven groups. D’Andrea is a member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and has served as co-chairperson for the Kennel Club of Niagara Falls show.
D’Andrea graduated from the Nardin Academy, obtained an Associate’s degree in Engineering Science, and has studied geology at the SUNY in Buffalo.
