One of the most difficult things for a handler to deal with is when “their” dog finishes their career and goes home. With Westminster week comes a lot of this scenario: Many top dogs from last year will take their last trip around the ring at Westminster and go home to their owners. Many new dogs will begin their careers. For years, Westminster has really been the beginning and end of the show year despite the calendar year stats, etc.

Ann Viklund must be doing a stellar job as the first female board member of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia as they have added 9 new female board members. They are:

Mark your calendars for Easter Sunday when the taped show of the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills, sponsored by Purina Pro Plan, airs on USA network at 8 pm EST. The shows will be taped on March 4th and 5th at the Pomona Fairgrounds, the same show grounds that hosts the Mission Circuit in May.
