Remembering Anne Legge

Legendary American breeder Mrs Anne Legge judges Best In Show at Danish Bloodhound Club Show in May 2007

We are sad to report the passing of Bloodhound authority Anne Legge at the age of 84. Many of us remember Anne as an outstanding breeder of Bloodhounds under the prefix Legacy, as well as an expert judge. Beyond that, she was a prolific writer of articles about her beloved breed, something that came natural for her since she was a college English professor.

Anne was active in the American Bloodhound Club and the Colonial Bloodhound Club where she served as show chair. Anne won AKC’s Outstanding Sportsmanship award for the American Bloodhound Club in 2016. Her impact on her favorite breed and our sport will be remembered forever and the sport of purebred dogs is poorer without her.
