AKC Board Ad Hoc Committee Regarding Canine Genetic Testing

Chairman William Feeney has announced the appointment of an ad hoc committee comprised of AKC Delegates, AKC staff, scientists, and veterinarians, each with specific related knowledge and experience, to research and analyze both the current state and the future of canine genetic testing.

The committee’s primary work product will be a comprehensive white paper describing the committee’s findings as well as any recommendations regarding the future use of genetic testing by AKC and its breeders.

This white paper will serve as a resource for AKC Board Members, Delegates, breeders and staff.

 Ad Hoc Committee Members:

Karolynne McAteer – AKC Board Member

Susan Hamil – AKC Delegate’s Canine Health Committee, Chair

Patricia Strand – AKC Delegate

Pamela Rosman – AKC Delegate

Eddie Dziuk – AKC Delegate’s Canine Health Committee

Dr. Jerold Bell – Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, DVM

Dr. Matthew Breen – North Carolina State University, PhD, C. Biol, FRSB

Dr. Julia Allwood – North Carolina State University, PhD, Animal Forensics

Mark Dunn – AKC Executive Vice President
